Federal Ammunition Recenzje App

Outdated

This might be helpful , but it hasn’t been updated since 2018. Federal has come out with a lot more/different load combinations since then so it’s no longer relevant

Good app, but has bugs

I spent an hour creating profiles for my various loads and saved all of them in the app. A few days later, all my saved calculations were gone!!!

Decent for the price

Like the simplicity, but there are bugs that don’t calculate energy

Won’t open on newest IOS

Worked great until recently

Needs update

Did work, now won’t open. Awesome & accurate when worked!

Works well but not all math is correct

I use this app just for curiosity sake of drop of different bullets. I noticed today that the energy calculation for 12 gauge slug seems off by quite a bit. The other rounds work so not sure what the issue is. A 1 oz slug does not have 33,000ftlb of energy at the muzzle.

Used this app for years for long range shooting

I’ve never had an issue with this app ballistic calc. Ive used it successfully for my hand load for more than 5 cartridges. Works great out to 1350 yards with my 6.5 creedmoor. Great out to 1,100 with my .308

Great for what it is for

This is fantastic for estimating drop at modest ranges (300 yards or less), especially for iron sight or classic style scope shooters. It will be an on paper estimate that you can perfect from there depending on your individual firearm. This isn’t a sniper DOPE book, precise data depends on your more than just ammo. Your specific rifle, humidity, barrel length, elevation, and at extreme ranges the position of the moon and rotation of the earth. This is an app on your phone. It doesn’t Bluetooth to your scope and talk to local weather stations. It has no idea if you are rockin a 16 or 24 inch barrel. It doesn’t know if your specific rifle has a perfect chamber seal or if your scope is 2 degrees off plumb. This is a rough calculation of the ammunition in an ideal circumstance. It will get you on paper at reasonable ranges, give you a rough idea of how range will effect velocity, estimate wind drift, and is sufficient to start gathering your own data and modest ranges. Hitting a 500+ yard target in the 10 ring reliably will realistically take you shooting regularly in various weather conditions and noting where you hit. You’ll shoot out a couple barrels before you can hit the 1,000 meter every time. Remember that in the 1800’s people hit 1,000 yard targets with iron sights on a black powder loaded 45-70 shooting solid lead bullets they cast themselves at a campfire. There is no substitute for range time but this app will give the iron sights shooter, or the guy with a bushnell Sportview that you can’t adjust without a screwdriver a great starting point so they don’t spend all their ammo looking for a 300 yard splash.

Good app

Despite the poor reviews, I had no problem with the app. It never crashed, saved appropriately and gave good information on the loads I asked for. It does allow handloads and non Federal loads such as Hornady and Norma. I recommend for quick information. It is not as in-depth as the Hornady app, but does what it does well enough.

Stopped working

Evidently doesn’t work with IOS 16. Needs an update yo

Crashes before I can really evaluate it

Looks like it might be a good resource for basic ballistic info but app crashes after you select the ammo parameters, especially if you try to change the range. Too bad. Just like the Winchester app, this one is unfinished or published by people who doesn’t care about their business. Typical. Please hire software developers who care what they’re doing so I can give this app five stars. It’s also a shame that Federal chooses to dis \respect customers by withholding their privacy policy info. If they were required to reveal this information, smart users would delete this app or any other that has an abusive privacy practice. I guess that’s why apple lets app makers get away with not revealing their privacy practices!

April 2022 still broken

Ballistic calculator is still broken, was wanting to use it for the American Eagle rounds I bought. Doesn’t work, reading previous reviews it’s been over a year that people have been having issues

This app is broken

That is all

What Happened !

Use to be a great APP for Federal Ammunition products, the Ballistic Calculator does print from Apple devices, no longer useful. Switching to Winchester Caculator and products.

Hangs every time

Every time I try to access the ballistic calculator the app just hangs with a spinning wheel. Tried ejecting the app and even deleted and reinstalled it. Even when it didn’t hang it would not allow me to specify the muzzle velocity when using factory loads, making the calculation all but useless. Not worth the hassle.

Lacking

I figured this would be great since I shoot Federal GoldMetal Match outta my 308. And figured this would be a pretty easy preloaded set up. I was wrong very limited factory loads to input. I’ll keep the app but will be looking for updates

K.I.S.S. Done right

This app is great when looking for a quick firing solution. It may not be the go to for 1500 meters, but for out to 800 or so it does the trick. It’s fairly basic, you put in a BC and a Velocity and you get the same solution that you’d get if you ordered a ballistic drop turret, so you can use decals or sharpies to mark your turret for 250,300,325,350,375,400, and 425 if your feeling extra confident and be able to go hunting big game with confidence

Terrible app

Not worth my time , tells me nothing , gives me no vendors to purchase from ! What a waste , don’t bother installing this app !!

Where’s my Bullets

I ordered 8 boxes of 5.56 and 8 boxes of 223 and I’ve been waiting for almost 4 weeks. I also can’t get in touch with anybody for support and I jus want to know is my order even coming cause I spent $300.

Won’t work with gen 2 iPhone SE

Worked great on my old iPhone. Used most every day with my work and recommended to everyone. No longer works with my new phone (iPhone SE gen 2).

Doesn’t save last input values

Says it does but when you reload them the values don’t get filled out and you can’t overwrite. The website does the same thing too. Not sure why a big company like this hires developers that don’t check their work!

App is not up to date

App is not up to date with latest ammunition that federal is manufacturing.

Not So Much

I downloaded the app last year and it didn't work so it was deleted almost immediately. I gave it some time and I saw that last update listed as "fixed bugs" so I downloaded it again. Nothing has changed. It won't even let me select a caliber. I'll just use the Winchester app.

Useless

When trying to find a range a box shows up with the range info. But not the whole box! No way close that Box either!

Basic calculator

It’s a basic calculator but from what I have experienced using it seems to be pretty accurate and useful.. if you’re trying to hit a quarter at 300+ yards it’ll at the very least get you in the ballpark. For plinking steel or water jugs at multiple different ranges it works good pretty well.

Shame on you guns and ammo

Saw this app referenced in an article by Guns & Ammo. Powerful tool for shooters. Really? They do have the 6.5 Creedmoor now. It may work for those that do not want to spend money on a real ballistics calculator and who aren’t going to shoot in any kind of weather or shoot past 300 Meters. Like one person mentioned it’s a sales tool and not much more. “Carry On”

Good app

Good app. Have been using it a lot since I installed it. The only problem I have found with it is when I enter the zero range (100yds) when i calculate it, it shows as 1.5 in.

Great basic ballistics tool.

Love the app for its basic simplicity to help with SIMPLE ballistics characteristics. A feature for barrel length (pistol, carbine, or rifle) would be helpful for more accurate muzzle velocities. I also wish it would allow zero or negative sight heights to allow calculations for bore level or under bore mounted lasers. One problem I have discovered is that the delete a saved calculation feature no longer works. I seem to remember it working prior to the last update. Still love the app though.

Update Immediately!

How can you have an app that does not have all of the ammunition that your company makes. I want to use this app, but I am unable to because I primarily shoot ELD-X. Horrible

Ballistic calc

Great little app. I spend lots of time comparing the trajectories of different calibers and rounds. It’s fun to pull out around ignorant people that don’t think a 270 is a good elk gun.

Very Basic, limited value to shooter

This is essentially a very basic drop calculator with some built in loads for salesmanship and extremely limited usefulness to a shooter. There are several glaring usability issues. The ballistics calculator does not save the last entered data but instead auto resets the form just because you back out to the main menu. There is no reason for this, there is a reset button if you wanted to reset! The load would have to be saved but you might have just been dabbling with variations and not want to save but also not want to re-enter everything again! The ballistics table display doesn’t format right to fit on the screen (iPhone 7) and you have to move it sideways to see it all... that is ridiculous to say the least and super sloppy. Yeah I had inches and MOA displayed, but if you can’t display them both don’t offer to! There is nothing here about stability, corialis, sighting angle (of course all ranges are flat... ok experts, sure). No indicators for supersonic and transonic barriers, poor atmospherics (no humidity), only wind speed not direction so you have to do the reduction for angle yourself. There is no way to ‘reload’ and modify a saved load, you just have to re-enter everything. This isn’t even ready for beta release as a ballistics calculator. It’s hardly more than a crayon and a napkin. I suppose it’s primary value is having a BC number published by Federal to take and put into a real calculator.

Update stopped App from working

App updated today. As soon as I tried to initiate app on my IPhone a start icon started spinning. It spun for 3 minutes. I shut down and restarted multiple times but app will not start at all. Federal should have left app as it was; now I’ve had to remove app and use another ballistic calculator.

224vlk

How do you guys not have 224 Valkyrie in here yet?!? You’re the only company manufacturing this round come on!!!

Wish it was more up to date

I really like this app and its functions, but I started using a new load that the website had all the information for yet the app still doesn't. Five stars when you add the Accubond 90 grain .243

Last Update???

Was updated over a year ago?! Needs updated to include current ammo offered by Federal Premium

Great!

I find this app very helpful especially when zeroing in my various calibered rifles. It is very handy to have while hunting as well.

Awesome

This is an amazing app that is being underrated by people just because it doesn't have 6.5 creedmor, maybe federal doesn't offer information because it only has the American eagle load for it I have used it for 30-06 30-30 and 22 or but that's not even close to the amount of calibers they have their is everything from 17hm2 to 500 nitro express

6.5 Creedmoor

Please update to include the 6.5 Creedmoor

Does not work

After typing in info, the next screen is just a bunch of dark lines. Please fix.

Black screen covers up info

The ballistics are calculated, but immediately covered up by a black screen. This seems like an easy fix....

Doesn't work

App doesn't show inputted results- copy Winchester App -

Needs update

Like the ammo, hate the app. Data shows up dark. Should move data to new screen. Try looking at the Winchester app for a fix. Their app works.

The app doesn't even work

When you put in all of your info, the next screen doesn't even load. Just a bunch of dark lines on the screen. Terrible app. Don't waste your time

Does not work 4me

Don't seem to work with new iOS every time I input info and calculate goes to screen that shades the calculation totally unusable also lacking in available types of ammunition well what can you say about FREE I understand this is Federal ammunition but can't even use this app with there own Ammunition really these shooting apps are not really usable in real life hunting situations where time and timing are everything on moving targets and can't just break out the iPhone and input the info and hope target stays Exactly like it is waiting for you to kill it so I'll just delete app sorry

Can't save data

I think we should be able to save the data so I don't have to put everything in each and every time

Sweet

Sweet app
